Safe sport · child safety · integrity
A safe, inclusive, and fair club for every swimmer.
We follow the National Integrity Framework, Swimming Queensland's member protection policy, and the Sport Integrity Australia Children & Young People safe practices.
Our commitments
What "safe sport" means at EDSC
Child safety
Every adult in a regulated role at EDSC (Technical Officials, Coaches, Committee members) holds a current Working With Children Check (or QLD equivalent Blue Card). The Swim Central membership system requires proof of WWCC for these roles — it's a hard gate.
Member protection
EDSC operates under Swimming Australia's National Integrity Framework and Swimming Queensland's Member Protection Policy. Any breach can be reported to SQ/SWI for independent investigation.
Photography & consent
We follow the Sport Integrity Australia “Children and Young People Safe Practices Do's & Don'ts” standard. Parents/guardians must give written consent before any image of their child is published on the website or socials. If you want to opt out — tell the club.
Complaints & reporting
Concerns can be raised to the Secretary at eumundi@widebayswimming.org.au, or escalated to Swimming Queensland's Integrity Unit, or Sport Integrity Australia.
Reference documents
EDSC follows the swimming national body policies. The canonical documents:
The Sport Integrity Australia “Children and Young People Safe Practices Do's & Don'ts” reference card (34 pages) is on file with the club — ask the Secretary for a copy.
If something doesn't feel right, please tell us.
Anyone — swimmer, parent, official, volunteer — can raise a concern. The Secretary routes to the right person.
